The factory does not need to be big or gray buildings that continue to smoke into the sky. Maybe you'll think this is the office of great companies. However, this actually is a picture of the end mills of the 19th century. Companies around the world focused on integrating 'concern for the population, environment, sustainability, and overall physical picture' into their building, said Diane Lewis, an architect practitioner and teacher at Cooper Union school of architecture. 1) Bang & Olufsen Location: Struer, Denmark
Background: After building their first product in the attic in 1925, Peter Bang & Olufsen Svend built their first factory in Struer, Denmark two years later. Although the building has seen many renovations and expansion, especially after the burning by Germany in World War II, the factory and its headquarters remain there today. Latest additions are the new headquarters building designed by Jan Søndergaard from KHR Architects and completed in 1998.
